This peer review was more challenging than the last one. The last paper was largely about ourselves, whereas this paper was about forming an opinion of other sources and creating our own argument while the integrating sources. The work was more complicated, and therefore the reviewing and suggesting was definitely more challenging as well. I found the guidelines for reviewing my peers’ papers helpful, though I think they should be suggestions and not requirements. I did not find it helpful to point out other peoples’ claims in their papers because they were the ones who wrote the paper ad they know where their own claims are. I also did not find it necessary to ask questions in the final comment of every paper. All this requirement made do is reword the statement I wanted to make into a question, which made the statement less effective. The guidelines are a large set of comments that you canĀ potentially make while reviewing a paper, but not every paper needs every single type of comment. For the next peer review, I would definitely like to receive a comment guidelines paper, but only for suggestions.
